An information transmission system relates to file transfer between devices and is capable of easily recognizing that the devices are of the same system, thereby simplifying the file transfer operation and eliminating complexity of the system itself. A monitoring resident software (61) resident in a PC (30) detects a folder structure (41) in a digital camera main body (11) and performs file analysis to determine whether an identification file (45) of the information transmission system (1) exists in the folder structure (41) detected.
