<p>A controller for a RAID device changes, when a disk is to be added, a status of segment allocation to existing stripes without changing the number of segments forming stripes, acquires unallocated segments one by one from as many arbitrary disks as the number of segments forming stripes out of a plurality of disks including a disk to be added, forms new stripes to which acquired unallocated segments are allocated, and reflects a change in allocation and a status of segment allocation to newly formed stripes onto a mapping table.</p> |
