A clamp device (2), comprising a hydraulic cylinder (7) for energizing a collet member (5) upward through a collet support member (6) and driving a pull rod (4) downward, wherein the pressure receiving area of a piston member (30) is set larger than the pressure receiving area of the collet support member (6) in the annular oil chamber (31) of the hydraulic cylinder (7), whereby the pull rod (4) can be driven downward in the state of the collect member (5) energized upward by the hydraulic cylinder (7) and, since the collet part (5a) of the collet member (5) is elastically deformed to a diameter increased side while slightly lowering and engaged with the vertical hole (1b) of a work (1), the work (1) can be surely fixed to a work supporting surface (3a).
