A coated powder having a coating on its base particle has a spectorophotometric characteristic such that the ratio H/W of the height H of the peak in the reflection spectrum ranging from 380 nm to 780 nm of when the vertical reflectance of the coated powder is measured to the half width W of the peak is over one when the ratio of the length wavelength specific width L of 400 nm of the reflection spectrum to the height reflectance specific width R of the 100% ordinate axis reflectance is L:R = 5:2. The color of this coated power is bright and deep. A coating composition and a coated article are also disclosed.
