A portable terminal having a battery cover device is provided to form a battery hole on one end of a housing, and to install the battery cover device which is rotatively configured on one side of the housing, thereby easily mounting a battery pack in the slim-sized terminal. A battery hole(119) is formed on a housing(101) of a terminal(100). A rotative member consists of a connection member(131) rotatively combined with the battery hole(119), and a spring member rotating for the housing(101) as the connection member(131) is rotated, by being extended from the connection member(131). A cover member(135) is combined with the spring member to slide thereon. As the rotative member is rotated, the cover member(135) opens/closes the battery hole(119), and is coupled with the housing(101) as the cover member(135) slides while the battery hole(119) is closed.
