A modified foodstuff that can be easily swallowed comprises a solidified food that includes particles of a comminuted food, the foodstuff being free of pieces of more than 4mm in size. The foodstuff may be prepared by comminuting the food to give a pureed food, ensuring that no pieces are present of a size greater than 4mm and allowing the food to set, preferably with the aid of a thickening agent, e.g. maize starch, into a solidified mass. The foodstuff may be meat, vegetables or fruit. |
