<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent driving of an annexed element provided incidentally to a printing unit of an extended part from being a factor of impeding a synchronous control of the printing unit. <P>SOLUTION: The printing unit 21 and the annexed element including a web path 23 at least which is needed incidentally to the printing unit 21 are provided as an extension of an existing rotary press 10, and the printing unit 21 and the annexed element are operated synchronously on the basis of a reference signal generated with the operation of the existing rotary press 10.
