DUPLICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FAST TAKE-OVER IN PASSIVE OPTICAL NETWORK(PON) SYSTEM

A duplicate method and apparatus capable for fast switching in a PON system are provided to detect an abnormal state on a link and switch an active communication link into a preliminary communication link at high speed, thereby providing the service of all ONTs continuously even though two links are cut off at a specific point. An OLT(Optical Line Termination)(1-1) is connected to an ONT(Optical Network Termination)(1-2) in a ring shape through an optical connection unit(3-1) connected on a ring-shaped link1(1-3) and link2(1-4). The ONT communicates with the OLT through an ONT link connection unit(1-7), and the link1 and the link2. When the ONT can not communicate with the OLT due to an error on the link1 or the link connection unit while communicating with the OLT, the ONT switches a communication path into the link2 and resumes the communication.
