PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the stepwise and empirical authentication of each device when performing electronic authentication among the plurality of devices. SOLUTION: An empirical authentication system in which hash values of from high empirical ranking to unidirectionally low empirical ranking can be generated, a pair of higher ranking and a hash value according to experience is distributed, and each of a plurality of authentication devices 20<SB>1</SB>to 20<SB>n</SB>having a pair of empirical ranking and a hash value individually authenticates the empirical ranking of other authentication device with one another. Each of the authentication devices manages a pair of own empirical ranking and hash value, transmits a corresponding hash value to an authentication device of request source when the proof of own empirical ranking is requested for from other authentication device, and when it makes a request of other authentication device for the proof of empirical ranking, verifies a hash value acquired from the authentication device based on the own hash value.
