According to the method: - the continuous signal r(t) is filtered by means of an analog filter (3), in particular a filter of the first order, with an impulse response hA (t) = - e-t/r, whereby lambd represents an exponential weighting factor with a value range 0 < lambd < 1 and tau is defined by the ratio of - T and 1n(lambd) according to tau = ----, - a first amplitude value sequence SA [n] is generated from the signal SA(t) thus filtered, by temporal discretization by means of equidistant sampling using the period T, and - to generate the amplitude value sequence s[n], the first amplitude value sequence SA[n] is filtered in a temporally discrete manner, said temporally discrete filtration being defined by the z transformed (HD)(Z), which is identical to the function (1 - lambdZ-1) except for a constant factor. The entire signal flow is scaled using a scaling factor K, which fulfils the relationship K = tau/T, wherein sigma represents a scaling factor with the value range sigma >= 0.
