PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a television camera, capable of registering and calling a preset position in simple and easy operations, that is, a small amount of operations. SOLUTION: The preset position is registered by either or both of preset position registration methods wherein (1) the same monitor point is automatically and sequentially registered as the preset position when the same monitor point comes to a standstill for a prescribed time or over and (2) a switch for sequentially registering the preset position for every depression of the switch is provided for the registration, (3) a 'return' or (4) 'proceed' switch along with the registration sequence is provided and the monitor can easily and sequentially be reproduced by operating either of the switches.
