USER ALERTING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR USE WITH SECURITY SYSTEMS

Methods and apparatus for use with security systems, particularly automobile security systems is disclosed. It is desirable to alert an authorized user of a secure protected system that the security on that system should be disarmed before use. In an embodiment, a power source for the secured system is monitored and when power is drawn by the secured system, such as by the beginning of use, an alert tone is generated to remind the user to disarm the security system. In an automobile environment the battery voltage is monitored and a disarm alerting signal is generated when the alarm system is armed and changes in battery voltage are detected.
