PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic document circulation system capable of making all the members of a community recognize the contents of a document without notifying all the members simultaneously, understanding whether recognized or not, and ensuring the reading by all the members. SOLUTION: An electronic document circulation system, which is consisting of a database server 1 comprising a database part to store document data and a plurality of information processing devices connected to it, comprises a notification part 19 which outputs a circulation notification after registering a document by a document registration part 12 to the information processing device of the circulation objective person of the document, a document read part 13 which reads the document data stored in the database part into the information processing device in response to the notification, a document already-read state part 15 which writes already-read state information to specify an already-read state person of the document when reading the document, and an already-read state person search part 17 which refers the already- read state information corresponding to the specified document. The notification part 19 is constituted to output the circulation notification again to a circulation objective person who is determined in the unread state by the referred already-read state information.
