PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording and reproducing device capable of performing a signal recording operation to a disk on the basis of instruction signals outputted from host equipment. SOLUTION: In the optical disk recording and reproducing device constituted to perform the signal recording operation on the basis of the instruction signals outputted from the host equipment, an objective lens incorporated in an optical pickup 3 is vibrated by supplying signals for reporting to a drive coil provided so as to displace the objective lens and it is reported that the instruction signal outputted from the host equipment is erroneous by the vibration sound of the objective lens.
