<p>In a central part of a fusible element on either side a stepwise side cut-off is performed so that within a distance y between portions (3) and (3') having a first reduced width e at both ends the width of the narrowed part of the strip is at first reduced to a second reduced width f in first portions (2, 2') and then this width is reduced to a smallest width g in a portion (1) so that 1<le/f<2 and f/g=5. A length x of the portion (1) is such that 1.1<y/x<1.5. The first reduced width e is such that 1<d/e<1.5. The portions (3, 3') are separated from portions (5, 5') having a basic width d by means of a second portion (4) and (4'), respectively, having the second reduced width f. A length z of the second portions (4, 4') is smaller than a length w of the portions (3, 3').The fusible element of the invention with a specific characteristic at a given nominal current can be precisely manufactured by means of several simply adjustable parameters and at the same time its power loss is lowered.</p> |
