<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous secondary battery having improved high- temperature property by suppressing the generation of gas or heat of reaction even in high-temperature environment and having improved discharge storage property by suppressing the potential rise of a negative electrode and the increased internal resistance of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: The non-aqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode 5, the negative electrode 6 containing a negative electrode active material capable of storing or releasing lithium, and a non-aqueous electrolyte consisting of a solvent and a solute. The negative electrode active material contains a carbon material having a d (002) value of 0.340 nm or more in X-ray diffraction. Vinyl ethylene carbonate shown in Formula 3 or its derivative is added to the non-aqueous electrolyte. The solvent contains 20 mass% γ-butyrolactone in terms of the total amount of the solvent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
