<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna with a small size and a low height capable of transmission/reception over a broadband. <P>SOLUTION: This antenna is useful for a cellular phone or the like using a frequency of e.g. a 800 MHz band, and the major building block of which comprises a first dielectric board 1 and a second dielectric board 2, and the height of the second dielectric board 2 is about 4.5 cm and the depth is about 7 cm. Patterns of L-shaped first and second radiation element conductors 3, 4 are formed on one side or both sides of the first dielectric board 1 by etching or the like. A ground board 10 is formed on a rear side of the first dielectric board 1. The entire length of a first radiation element conductor 3 of this antenna is selected to be slightly longer than about 1/4 wavelength at the center frequency of a frequency band in use. Further, the length of a second radiation element conductor 4 is selected to be conversely slightly shorter than about 1/4 wavelength at the center frequency. Thus, it is possible to extend the operating bandwidth toward both high and low frequencies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
