PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a plurality of telecommunications networks without being aware of a line to be used and line trouble or the like. SOLUTION: This is a telephone adapter system 10 which appropriately switches lines between a plurality of telecommunications networks in exchanging telecommunications between two telephone sets 1 by using one line selected from a plurality of telecommunications networks (an Internet network 2 and a public network 3). The telephone adapter system comprises a number table 16 for storing the number of the telephone set 1 of an opposite party, network numbers when the numbers differ from each other for telecommunications networks, and the line to be used in association with one another, and a telecommunications control section 15 automatically selecting and switching the line to be used corresponding to the number table 16 when any number is inputted based on the number table 16. In addition, the telephone adapter system 10 comprises a dialing number converting table 23 storing priority information on the number of the telephone set 1 at the opposite party or the like in association with each other, and a telecommunications control section 22 automatically selecting the usable line when the selected line is of no use based on the table 23.
