PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system with high cycle characteristics by preventing the generation of short circuit between a unit cell from which an electrolyte is leaked and other unit cell. SOLUTION: This battery system is constituted by electrically connecting a plurality of unit cells, and each unit cell has a positive electrode 11 having a positive active material 11b and a negative electrode 12 having a negative active material 12b through a separator member 13, the positive active material 11b and the negative active material 12b are interposed between a positive current collector 11a electrically connected to the positive electrode and a negative current collector 12a electrically connected to the negative electrode, an outer peripheral part of them is sealed with an insulator 14, the positive current collector 11a and the negative current collector 12a of one unit cell are electrically connected to the positive current collector 11a or the negative current collector 12a of the other unit cell adjacent to this unit cell, and the generation of short circuit between these unit cells is prevented.
