PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sealed battery with high volume efficiency and high sealing properties. SOLUTION: As shown in (a), an opening part of an outer jacket 10 is pressed with a reforming mold 100 to reform the side wall surface of the outer jacket 10 toward the inside in the diameter direction from the slightly lower part (a jacket bottom side) of steps 10a, 10b. As shown in (b), the step 10a receives pressure from an R part 200r of the mold 200, and elastically deforms in the diameter direction and the longitudinal direction of the outer jacket 10 to form a curved surface. The step 10a disappears in the sealing part after work. The outer jacket 10 and a gasket 50 are surely sealed through a sealant 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
