PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power unit which prevents self turn-on. SOLUTION: This switching power unit, which is equipped with switching elements 11 and 12 connected in series between a pair of input terminals 1 and 2 and drivers 15 and 16 for driving the switching elements 11 and 12 and generates an output voltage Vout different from an input voltage Vin supplied between the input terminals 1 and 2 by alternately turning on the switching elements 11 and 12 by a driver, is further equipped with a diode 20 connected between the gate electrode of the switching element 12 and the power wiring of the driver 16. Accordingly, in the case that a battery, etc., are connected between output terminals 3 and 4, a stabilizing capacitor 17b connected between power wiring and the input terminal 2 is connected in parallel to the capacitance between the gate and the source of the switching element 12, so that the occurrence of self turn-on is suppressed.
