PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formed type flat panel of a tint color tone satisfying a brightness condition in a tube madder, and satisfying an explosion-proof characteristic of the UL Standard. SOLUTION: This formed type flat panel for a cathode ray tube formed of tinted glass includes a surface plate of a substantially rectangular shape provided with an effective face, an outer face having 10,000 mm or more of curvature radius R and a curved inner face having a curvature radius R<SB>1</SB>smaller than the R, a skirt part extended rearwards from an edge of the surface plate, and a corner part for connecting the surface plate to the skirt part. In the panel, a length D of a diagonal line is 700 mm or more, or within a range less than 665 mm from 550 mm or more, a thickness T<SB>1</SB>of a peripheral part in the surface plate is 0.03D-5≤T<SB>1</SB>≤0.039D+15/(D<SP>0.5</SP>-1.5)+2.54, a thickness T<SB>2</SB>of the central part in the surface plate is 0.0185D-6.5≤T<SB>2</SB>≤0.0204D, and a wedge rate T<SB>1</SB>/T<SB>2</SB>is 1.3≤T<SB>1</SB>/T<SB>2</SB>≤2.1.
