This invention relates to a radiation detector comprising at least one semiconducting junction capable of generating electron-hole pairs under the action of the detected radiation and connected in photovoltaic cell mode. The invention is particularly applicable in the field of measuring gamma or X radiation dose rates that can reach high values.
