The scraper discharges material in bulk from a stockpile, having a travelling chassis and an articulated boom derricked by a lifting mechanism. The boom has two scraper sections one after the other in the transport direction, with scraper chains running over sprockets, and arms pivoting together in the vertical plane. The rearmost section derricks on the chassis near the foot of the pile, and the foremost one delivers material to it where they pivot together. At the rear end of the foremost section (14) the chain passes over two sprockets (24, 25), one above the other, between the bottom working run and the top return run. When the foremost section is derricked into the horizontal position, the position of these sprocket is such that at the transfer point the uppermost sprocket (24) is above the end of the rearmost boom section. |
