Two counter-rotating cylinder rolls (11, 13) interlock via gear-rims (16) and the space (18) formed in between the rolls can be used to receive the shutter bar. The sides of this space are bordered by flanges (14). One of the rolls (11) has a single or multi-row punch ring (26) for cooperating with a single or multi-row grooved ring (28) on the other roll (13), the punches (30) being received by the grooves (32). Shutter bars are passed through the perforation device (10) after being formed by extrusion.
