PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of coating an automobile body by which an excellent finish appearance and a coating performance are attained. SOLUTION: In the outer plate part and/or the inner plate member of the automobile body constituted of an oxide film treated aluminum material or a different kind of a metallic material obtained by combining the oxide film treated aluminum material with a steel material as an essential material, the surface roughness of the aluminum material on which an oxide film treatment is to be applied is≤0.2μm and the aluminum material treated with an oxide film treatment is coated with a thermal setting type electrodeposition coating film.
