PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic nanoparticulate which is further improved in a function as a magnetic recording material. SOLUTION: This magnetic nanoparticulate comprising an amorphous SiO2+ MiOj(i and j are each an integer of 1-9) is obtained by uniformly mixing a solution containing MXp-nH2O (M is a transition metal or rare earth metal; X is a halogen; and p and n are each a positive real number including 0) with a solution containing Na2SiO3-mH2O (m is a positive real number including 0) and then, burning the generated precipitate. The nanoparticulate is characterized in that individual MiOjnanoparticulate is held in such a state as to be separated by an amorphous SiO2reticular membrane. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
