<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display and a driving method therefor capable of a favorable visual angle characteristic, relating to the liquid crystal display device used for a display part of information equipment or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When a data voltage is applied to a gate electrode G2 of a TFT 72 at a relatively high level, a driving voltage is applied to a liquid crystal layer 57 for a long time to realize white display. When a data voltage is applied to the gate electrode G2 of the TFT 72 at a relatively low level, the driving voltage is not applied to the liquid crystal layer 57 to realize black display. When an intermediate data voltage between the above high and low levels is applied to the gate electrode G2 of the TFT 72, the TFT 72 maintains the ON state for the period decided by a time constant determined by capacitance C1 and resistance R1.
