PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shield a flare light beam emitted from an LD unit. SOLUTION: A first shielding plate 11 is integrally formed on the cover 8a of a polygon motor 8 driving and rotating a polygon mirror 5. The first flare light beam FL1 out of first and second flare light beams FL1 and FL2 emitted from the LD unit 1 to both right and left sides of a main light beam is shielded by the plate 11. An auxiliary shielding plate 12 is concurrently provided in a fixed part against light leakage possibility, and also a second shielding plate 13 is provided in the fixed part for the second flare light beam FL2.
