PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow rate measuring apparatus of low power consumption in which measurement precision is maintained and improved by setting a measurement period to minimum one which is not affected by flow-rate fluctuation according to the length of a fluctuation cycle in flow rate. SOLUTION: Based on the signal of a flow detecting means 2 which detects flow state of a fluid in a flow path 1, a flow-rate measuring means 10 calculates an average flow rate during a prescribed measurement period. A cycle detecting means 7 detects fluctuation cycle of flow. A measurement period changing means 11 sets a measurement period to be almost N (integer) multiple of the fluctuation cycle detected by the cycle detecting means 7 and changes the integer N according to the fluctuation cycle.
