PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous coupling, in which fuel consumption and emitted exhaust gas are suppressed to protect the environment, by reducing torque transmission according to differential rotation at the time of normal running or high-speed running. SOLUTION: Since a centrifugal governor 67 is moved to a center side by an urging means 65 at the time of low-speed running small in number of revolution of a housing 31, a float 71 is moved to the outside in an operating chamber 35. Therefore, viscous fluid 41 in a positions of an outer plate 45 and an inner plate 47 is deep and a contact area is enlarged, so that the transmission torque is increased. On the other hand, since the centrifugal governor 67 is moved to the outside against the urging means 65 by the centrifugal force when the housing 31 rotates at high speed, the float 71 is moved to the center side in the operating chamber 35. The viscous fluid 41 is shallow and the contact face gets small, so that the transmission torque is decreased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
