The drive includes a drive motor (3) with a control (4), which is in connection with a sensor (5) sensing the upper edge of a stack (1). A value is input to the control according to the thickness tolerance of the printing material. The speed for moving the stack is determined in dependency on the thickness tolerance by the control.
