PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connector which can reduce a fitting space by storing a sort of elastic gate inside. SOLUTION: A sort of optical fiber connector includes a fitting-in body, a housing, and an elastic gate. The elastic gate has a metallic elastic sheet and a shutter member molded in one body by injection molding and is fixed to the housing of the connector through the fitting-in body. When an optical fiber plug is inserted into the optical fiber connector, the shutter member of the elastic gate elastically deforms to be turned over in the storage cavity of the housing and the metallic elastic sheet receives operating force to deform and also apply fixed pressure to the optical fiber plug. Consequently, when the optical fiber plug receives operating force smaller than drawing-out force, the plug is stably applied to the optical fiber connector. After the optical fiber plug is drawn out of the optical fiber connector, the elastic gate is put back into a shading state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
