PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new silylnorbornene and silyltetracyclodecene as copolymerizable monomers capable of introducing a silicon containing cross- linking position for an ethylene-α-olefin random copolymer excellent in various physical properties such as pressure resistant permanent distortion, electric and strength characteristics. SOLUTION: The silylnorbornene and silyltetracyclodecene are expressed by general formula (I) [wherein, (n) is 0-10 integer and (m) is 0 or 1; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>are each independently H, a 1-4C alkyl, may be the same or different and may be different in accordance with the (n); and X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>and X<SP>3</SP>are each independently a 1-4C alkoxy, a halogen atom, a 1-4C alkyl or H, and 1 or 2 of them are the 1-4C alkoxy or halogen atom and the rest is the 1-4C alkyl or H], and the method for producing them and the use of them (as a polymerizable monomer) are also provided.
