PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peptide having strong NO-trapping ability, applicable to trapping and determining NO, capable of being applied as a diagnostic reagent, a prophylactic and a therapeutic agents for diseases concerned with NO and applicable as a research reagent, a reagent for measuring NO in the environment and a treating agent applicable to removing NO in the environment. SOLUTION: This peptide is a heme peotide represented by the formula (I). [wherein A1 is H or a peptide chain comprising 1-20 amino acid residue; A2 is hydroxy or a peptide chain comprising 1-50 amino acid residue; Heme is a heme nucleus represented by the formula (II); X1 and X2 are each independently an optional amino acid residue; and X3 is His, Lys or Arg].
