TOTAL CAVAPULMONARY ANASTOMOSIS METHOD

FIELD: medicine; cardiac surgery. SUBSTANCE: method involves division of the upper cava at a distance of 1 cm above its joint with the right heart auricle followed by making end-to-side anastomoses of the divided upper cava and the right pulmonary artery so that the central axes of the distally anastomosed vessels form an angle of 55-65 deg. The proximal and distal anastomoses are displaced relative to each other, and the displacement is 0.5 diameter of the proximal anastomosis. EFFECT: shorter operation time; more reliable anastomosis.
