PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device of high convenience capable of emitting light while avoiding wasteful power consumption of battery voltage. SOLUTION: In the preliminary light emitting processing, a CPU 7 firstly detects the battery voltage of a battery 12, and retrieves a pulse pattern corresponding to the detected battery voltage from an EEPROM 9 and outputs it to an LED driving circuit 10 to control the preliminary emission. Further, in the charge processing for charging a main capacitor in a stroboscope driving circuit 13 which is a power supply source for emitting light by the stroboscopic light emitting part 14, the CPU 7 detects the voltage of the battery 12, and calculates a charging time corresponding to the detected battery voltage by referring to a charge table 9a to charge the main capacitor for the time calculated.
