PURPOSE:To readily manifest lubricity on the surface of the substrate of a medical body-insertion tool and enhance controllability of the tool so as to ease patients' pain by covering the surface of the substrate with a maleic anhydride copolymer half ester partially bridged by a diisocyanate or its derivative. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the substrate of a medical body-insertion tool is covered with a maleic anhydride copolymer half ester partially bridged by a diisocyanate or its derivative. The medical body-insertion tool is covered at its substrate with a mixed solution of the maleic anhydride copolymer half ester or its derivative with the diisocyanate and is dried by heating and so its manufacturing process is simplified and sufficient lubricity and the continuity of the lubricity are obtained during the use of the medical body-insertion tool. After the mixed solution of the maleic anhydride copolymer half ester or its derivative with the diisocyanate is used to cover the substrate, hydrogel forms on the surface of the substrate during heating and drying processes and is firmly stuck to the surface of the substrate so that a cover capable of manifesting lubricity is formed. |
