INSTALLATION CONSTRUCTION FOR STARTER SWITCH UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate positioning and installation of a switch unit to a switch mount of a housing in a starter and to prevent the switch unit from slightly displacing with respect to the switch mount as a vehicle is running, and also to prevent loosening of a fastener member for fastening the switch unit to the switch mount. SOLUTION: In the starter including the housing 10, a motor unit 25 and the switch unit 50, a construction for installation of the switch unit 50 to the switch mount 15 comprises: a plurality of concave portions 16 formed in an end surface 15c of the switch mount and axially concaved; convex portions 58 axially projectingly formed on an abutting end surface 57c of a bottom of a casing 52 of the switch unit and fitted in the concave portions; and a plurality of fastener members 60 inserted through between the switch mount and the bottom of the casing for fastening the switch unit to the switch mount.
