The burner (1) has a burner channel (3) in which combustion air and fuel can be fed to air (7) and relatively downstream fuel inlet positions (10). The fuel and air are mixed in the burner channel and fed into a combustion zone. A Helmholtz resonator (19) is directly connected to the burner channel downstream of the fuel inlet position and upstream of the combustion zone to substantially isolate air number fluctuations and combustion oscillations.
