<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a reflection type LCD (liquid crystal display) that, when a reflection display electrode of the LCD is flat, light is reflected in a fixed direction and hence the viewing angle cannot be broadened and, moreover, that a TFT (thin film transistor) and the reflection display electrode comes in contact at a single spot and hence contact failures are brought about in the LCD. <P>SOLUTION: In this reflection type liquid crystal display, a plurality of contact parts of the reflection display electrode and the TFT for driving a pixel are provided almost over the whole surface of the reflection display electrode. As a result, since the surface of the display electrode is made to have an uneven cross-sectional shape, incoming light is reflected to many directions to broaden the viewing angle. Moreover, contact failures are reduced and pixels are prevented from becoming defective. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
