PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-magnetic bearing material which has a higher hardness, a longer tumbling fatigue life, and a higher corrosion resistance than those of a precipitation hardened stainless steel, such as JIS SUS630, or a Be-Cu alloy used so far as a non-magnetic bearing material; and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A bearing material having a hardness of 600 Hv or higher and a magnetic permeability (μ-1) of 1.00×10<SP>-2</SP>or less is obtained by keeping aγ'-phase andα-phase composite precipitation hardened alloy having an alloy composition comprising 0.1 wt.% or lower C, 2.0 wt.% or lower Si, 2.0 wt.% or lower Mn, 30-45 wt.% Cr, 1.5-5 wt.% Al, and the balance being unavoidable impurities and Ni at 1,000°C or higher but lower than the solution treatment temperature of theα-phase for 1 min-2 hr, then cooling it, and subjecting it to an aging treatment at 500-800°C for 1 min-100 hr.
