摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress variation of a characteristic between display gradations and brightness caused by temperature changes of the panel of a liquid crystal display panel, and to suppress image persistence thereof, in a method for driving an active matrix type liquid crystal display device of a pulse width modulation system using thin film transistors as switching elements. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is provided with a panel temperature detection means of the liquid crystal display panel, and corrects gate-on voltage or a data signal pulse width, and a frequency of a reference clock signal according to the panel temperatures. Moreover, the device corrects a correction value of the gate-on voltage due to the polarities of write data or a correction value of a data signal pulse width according to the panel temperatures. The higher the panel temperature is, the lower the gate-on voltages of the positive and negative polarities are set, and the lower the panel temperature is, the higher the gate-on voltages of the positive and negative polarities are set.
