PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cotton-like polyester-based fabric having a soft touch. SOLUTION: A polyester-based fabric containing≥10 wt.% polyester multifilaments (A) is subjected to a caustic reduction treatment of≥10% to dissolve the thick parts of the filaments and to cause a nap on the surface of the fabric. The polyester multifilament is a thick and thin yarn having thick parts and thin parts in≥1.2 ratio of diameters of the thick part to the thin part, and 1-5 dtex filament size. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
