PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biodegradable crosslinked resin foam reduced in the degradation of the resin by a factor such as heat, light, or oxygen, having a good surface appearance, uniform cells in the foam, and having excellent mechanical properties, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This biodegradable crosslinked resin foam is obtained by crosslinking and foaming a resin composition prepared by formulating 100 pts.wt. biodegradable aliphatic polyester and/or modification thereof with 1-50 pts.wt. thermally decomposable blowing agent and 0.01-10 pts.wt. at least one stabilizer selected from among a radical scavenger, a peroxide decomposer, and a radical chain initiation inhibitor.
