PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide device and method for controlling a linear compressor which compensates an output of a sensor distorted by an internal temperature or load variation of the compressor. SOLUTION: This device includes a position detecting part 20 to detect the position of a piston performing a reciprocating motion within a cylinder, a power supply part 14 to supply driving power supply to the position detecting part 20, and a compensating part to compensate an output distortion of the position detecting part 20 caused by the internal temperature of the linear compressor.
