PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an intermediate transfer belt structure which prevents image failure caused by waving of an intermediate transfer belt and costs less, in an image forming device which has a rib on only one of open edges of the intermediate transfer belt. SOLUTION: The image forming device has: an image carrier which holds a toner image thereon, a first transfer means which transfers the toner image on the image carrier to the intermediate transfer body, and a second transfer means which transfers the toner image on the intermediate transfer body to a recording material. In the image forming device, the intermediate transfer body is a circular, endless resin belt stretched round rollers. A restricting member which restricts movement of the belt in its width direction is disposed on one of open edges of the intermediate transfer body. Biasing force for stretching the intermediate transfer body is greater on the side of the edge which is provided with the restricting member than that on the side of the edge which is not provided with a restricting member.
