PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-priced output shaft support mechanism of an automatic transmission in which can a shaft dimension of the automatic transmission is shortened as mush as possible. SOLUTION: This output shaft support mechanism 10 of the automatic transmission is provided with the output shaft 11 of the automatic transmission, an aluminum-made extension housing 13, a first iron ball bearing 14 arranged between the inner peripheral surface of the extension housing 13 and the outer peripheral surface side of the output shaft, an iron annular sleeve 15 pressed in the inner circumference of the extension housing 13 so as to be arranged between the outer peripheral surface of the outer race 14A of the first iron ball bearing 14 and the inner peripheral surface of the extension housing 13, a second iron ball bearing 16 arranged between the inner peripheral surface of the extension housing 13 and the outer peripheral surface side of the output shaft 11 on the end side of the output shaft 11 from the first ball bearing 14.
