PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink from drying by a relatively inexpensive constitution in a printer of an ink discharge system. SOLUTION: In moving up/down a cap 21 for preventing the ink from drying and caking at an ink discharge part 11 of a printing unit 10, when the printing unit 10 moves from a printing position to a standby position, a moving member 30 is pressed and moved by the printing unit 10, thereby moving up the cap 21 via a cam mechanism which slides a roller 32a coupled to the cap 21 on a cam face set at the moving member 30.
