PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate the coating of the bottom part of a passenger car regardless of an existing lift apparatus. SOLUTION: An automatic coating apparatus 2 for the bottom part of the passenger car is constituted of; a rail 21 which is placed in the width direction of the passenger car C on the floor face in the side of the lift apparatus; a moving carriage 22 which moves in the car width direction on the floor face at the side of the lift apparatus by being guided by the rail 21; a moving carriage 23 which moves in the car length direction, can be housed in the moving carriage 22, is connected to the moving carriage 22 by an expandable pantograph arm 235 and moves in the car length direction of the passenger car C; and a coating unit 24 loaded on the moving carriage 23.
